Curating the Rare

Welcome to our website, Bexar Collectibles! There are just two of use, Howard and Larry, and we are ordinary collectors like you, not professional dealers. In fact, our site is designed primarily for you as a fellow amateur collector of interesting things and not for dealers or speculators.

I only have two goals: First is frankly to reduce large surpluses of coins, stamps, paper currency, and first day covers which I inherited or purchased over the years. I have what I want to keep and, when the day comes, I know what I want to pass along to my children. Second. I want to find "good homes" for my surplus items where they will be appreciated and cared for -- you. I have what I need for my personal collections; the rest is for you to enjoy. As an ordinary collector like you, I enjoyed the thrill of acquiring a "new" coin or stamp, and I learned a LOT about geography, history, culture, economics, and much else from my coin and stamp acquisitions. In my view, THAT is also why you should start collecting.

Whether in the coin area or first day cover, much of what I am offering you is very low cost -- actually a dollar or two plus shipping. My goal is to not make a bundle -- I don't need it. But as I have said, my goal is to down large inventories of duplicate materials and find "good homes" for those items.
